Dr. Brenda Hines and Shinda Starr, FNP-C, have combined their decades of experience to create a wellness center unlike any other in the Fredericksburg area. Education & Experience

Dr. Brenda Hines has offered comprehensive women's health care for almost thirty years. Her stellar education from Mount Sinai School of Medicine and residency at Howard University gave her the foundation to develop a thriving OB/Gyn practice.

Her passion for total mind and body wellness, preventive medicine, weight management, and functional medicine led her to the University of Bridgeport, where she received her Master of Science in Human Nutrition and graduated Summa Cum Laude. She is passionate about studying the intricate biochemical mechanisms of our body and the nutritional supply required to maintain optimal health.

She is currently in the process of becoming a Certified Nutrition Specialist and a NAMS (North American Menopausal Society) Certified Menopause Practitioner. She and Shinda Starr, FNP-C are also certified Biote providers, offering bioidentical hormone pellets and nutraceuticals.

Personal Background

Dr. Hines has been married for 36 years to Dr. Daniel Hines. They met in 1984 at the University of Michigan. They have three wonderful children and two beautiful granddaughters. She loves spending time with family and friends, reading, and exercising. Every day she is more in awe of the human body that God has created.

Shinda Starr is an accomplished board-certified family nurse practitioner with over 22 years of experience. With a master's degree in nursing from Chamberlain University, Shinda graduated magna cum laude and has maintained a high standard of excellence throughout her career.

Her specialty lies in family practice with a focused background in medical weight loss, weight loss management, disease prevention, and reversal, where she discovered her deep passion for helping individuals transform their overall health. She is currently pursuing a certification in functional medicine and is a certified Biote Provider, assisting patients with hormone balance and optimization.

Her Journey

Shinda understands the transformative impact that improving one's health can have, having experienced it firsthand during her breast cancer journey. This deeply personal healing experience has fueled her passion for promoting overall health and wellness and inspired her decision to partner with Dr. Brenda Hines to found The Well Unscripted.

She aims to empower individuals to take control of their health and make positive changes that will have a lasting impact, striving to create a welcoming and supportive environment for her patients to transform their health and live their best lives.

Personal Background

Shinda is a loving wife and proud mother of two young men. She has a passion for traveling and immersing herself in diverse cultures, trying new foods, and enjoying brunch with friends. Her curious nature and thirst for knowledge make her a true explorer at heart.
